Froggy Fully Description

---Safe Frogs!---

-Froggy Symbol-

Description

Frog Extinctions Linked To GLOBAL WARMING!

Frog is one of the amphibians’ species that become extinct due to the Global Warming. The frog died due to their sensitivity skin to heat and also water lost on their skin. Many ‘Harlequin Frog Species’ (Atelopus) across Central and South America have disappeared due to deadly infectious diseases spurred by changing water and air temperatures. So, frogs really need human help to safe and protect them from harm.

Short Cut Understanding
FROGS keep on instinct day by day due to Global Warming!
So, we need to protect them from harm!
NO frogs, NO Rain! :)

Froggy Fully Step-By-Step

-Step1-

- I create the basic shape for the eyes and also the body of the frog
- I used basic shape for the eyes and using pen tool for the water drop shape
- I combined the eyes and the body of the frog using path finder tool

-Step2-

- I make the leaves and nose also using pen tool
- I select all 4 leaves to make it into 1 group by grouping them

-Step3-

- I'm using the path finder to make the glass at the outer part of it
- I combined 2 oval shape; then I group them together; after that I'm using the divide tool for it and at the end I un-group back the shape and move them piece by piece...

-Step4-

- I started to put colour for the object
- I used the basic colour 1st as the starter

-Step5-

- I start adjusting the colour using the gradient tool
- I'm using the graphic style tool to change the type of medium that the object refers to..(eg: water drop - I'm applying water style for it)
- The outline of the object, I applied the brush tool to make it look more sharp and nice to see

-Step6-

- I make the reflection of the drops using the pen tool
- I adjust the transparency for it to make it suite
- The gradient and the graphic style also I edit a little bit to make it look glossy

-Step7-

- I make the eyes colour adjustment by editing the gradient for it to look the mix of the colour black and white
- I make the last touch up for the froggy to make the colour looks good

-Step8-

- I group the necessary object into one group and rename all the layer to make it easy to recognize
- The sketch at the top left I used as my reference to avoid me out of track...
- The final output I convert it to .png file...

Just waiting to be call for the presentation...
:(

Froggy For Presentation

Dear My Work Station,

I've done my modification in this Froggy...
Tomorrow would be the presentation in front of Mdm Ling...
I need to clarify and explain the significant of this Froggy with the Global Warming..
So, below is some explaination and some step that I made my Froggy...
I hope tomorrow Mdm Ling won't reject this Froggy!
GoodLuck 2 me and to all fellas also!

-My Froggy Symbol Explaination-
-My Froggy Symbol-

I choose Froggy as my symbol is because Frog is one of the amphibians species that become instinct due to the Global Warming...
The Frog died due to their sensitif skin to heat (temperature) and also the water lost on their skin..
They also easily to get disease that will effect the comunity in one habitat...
In a short way, "Frogs Instinct due to GLOBAL WARMING!"

-Specific Meaning for Froggy Symbol-
1- Water Drop
Means: Frog need water to avoid water loss on its skin
Colour: Blue (as we know blue stands for water)
2- Leaves
Means: To show their place to live
Colour: Green (as we know green stand for leaf)
3- Frog Skin
Means: The skin is sensitive to the changes of the temperature & water quality
Colour: Green (for frog)

Mdm Ling Comment

Dear My Work Station,

Today I met Mdm Ling face 2 face on her consultasion hour time regarding my sketch and the Illustrator part that I basically did it in 50% progress...
So, she asked me to modify some part of it...
to make it look to positive side rather than negative side..
It means that...
She told me NOT to make the Froggy cry or sad and avoid make the break glass for its home...
Need to make all in good way...
So that when everyone see this symbol...
they will think positive side...

So..I will modify my Froggy work to make everyone satisfy...
Yeah!
;)

Froggy In Illustrator

Dear My Work Station,

I started my froggy drawing in Illustrator...
I put my sketch as my reference in the templete..
So, I just basically start creating shapes that suite to my froggy..
I'm using pathfinder and some gradient colour tool as starter...

Froggy Sketch & Refer

Dear My Work Station,

This is my new sketch and also some references that I used to make this symbol..
My basic idea of this symbol is about...

"a frog having tears when its habitat turn to be so hot because the heat keep increasing and will cause the frog died due to the water loss on its skin..."

Froggy Sketches Idea

Dear My Work Station,

These are some sketches that I've done to make the symbol...
I try to relate the instinction of the frogs due to Global Warming...
I've done more than 6 sketches actually..
But I only put just 6 sketches that I think in my top list..
:)

A Pencil

Dear My Work Station,
This is the one that I did in class..
Mdm Ling asked us to sketch our own object..
and then, transform it in Illustrator..
There we learned how to used to pathfinder tool..

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's the screenshot that I've done in the Illustrator..

1- I'm using 'devide tool' that include in the pathfinder to make the curve at eraser part..
2- I also used the 'add to shape area' to make the shape to combined..
3- Using group button to make certain shape in one group..

Magnifying Info

Dear My Work Station,

The main theme of this assignment 1 till 3 is about the 'Global Warming'...
It's such a big topic for me to do it..
So, I make up my mind to choose certain part that related to the theme itself..
Based on my research, I think I would like to choose 'Frogs' since their population being affected by the Global Warming...

Frog Extinctions Linked to Global Warming

Global warming may cause widespread amphibian extinctions by triggering lethal epidemics, a new study reports.
J. Alan Pounds and colleagues suggest that many harlequin frog species (Atelopus) across Central and South America have disappeared due to deadly infectious diseases spurred by changing water and air temperatures.

"Disease is the bullet killing frogs, but climate change is pulling the trigger," said Pounds, lead study author and resident scientist at Costa Rica's Monteverde Cloud Forest Preserve.
"Global warming is wreaking havoc on amphibians and will cause staggering losses of biodiversity if we don't do something fast."
Biodiversity refers to the number of species in a given area. It is often used to gauge the health of an ecosystem.
The study appears in today's issue of the journal Nature.
Vanishing Frogs
About two-thirds of the 110 known harlequin frog species are believed to have vanished during the 1980s and 1990s. The primary culprit, Pounds suggests, is the disease-causing chytrid fungus Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis.
Amphibian skin is extremely thin, which makes frogs acutely sensitive to even minor changes in temperature, humidity, and air or water quality. It also makes frogs more susceptible to chytrid fungus.

The new study suggests that temperature extremes may have previously helped keep the deadly disease in check. But new climate cycles are now moderating those annual temperature swings.
Global warming has increased evaporation in the tropical mountains of the Americas, which in turn has promoted cloud formation, the study reports. That cloud cover may have actually decreased daytime temperatures by blocking sunlight. At the same time, it may have served as an insulating blanket to raise nighttime highs.
Pounds believes the combination has created ideal conditions for the spread of the frog-killing fungus, which grows and reproduces best at temperatures between 63° and 77°F (17° and 25°C).
